School to Work

 

Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) placements allow students to integrate on-the-job experience with secondary study. It is delivered as part of a student’s secondary schooling certificates and subjects, such as Vocational Education and Training (VET), the VCE Vocational Major, VCE Industry and Enterprise or the Victorian Pathways Certificate.

For Employers

Partner with the Inner Northern Local Learning and Employment Network (INLLEN) and help prepare the workforce of tomorrow.

INLLEN is funded by the Victorian Department of Education to deliver the School to Work program—a work-based learning initiative that offers employers the opportunity to host students for structured workplace learning (SWL) placements at no cost.

As a host employer you will:

  • Receive free end-to-end support, including all administration and student preparation
  • Benefit from a single point of contact for all enquiries from students, parents and schools
  • Contribute directly to the education, career development and training of local young people

The Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) website www.workplacements.education.vic.gov.au provides school teachers and students with an easy-to-navigate, single information and referral point for a diverse range of SWL placement opportunities. The website is searchable by industry and location.
