Strengthening learning relationships between school, family and community
INLLEN has delivered a number of professional development workshops providing educators and community practitioners with knowledge and practical skills around forming successful school-family-community and school-business partnerships.
To be held on 9 September at the Treacy Centre, Parkville, this one day professional learning forum is for educators and community agencies who are interested in improving primary secondary school transition for gtreater engagement in learning.
Last held in 2013, the day will once again feature a selection of interactive workshops and opportunity aplenty to network. Tom Brunzell, Berry Street Institute, will provide valuable strategies for the middle years and beyond through his keynote presentation and workshop.

Community Transition Support Conference, ‘Building Lives, Creating Futures’
The CTS Conference, ‘Building Lives, Creating Futures,’ held in August 2014 was a great success. School Representatives from the 22 specialist schools across the North and West of Melbourne were well represented as were community service agencies, disability employment services, local government and industry representatives. The day included presentations by keynote speaker Dr Denis Meadows, Researcher and Lecturer from Griffith University and many others from a range of stakeholder groups. Read more
Organised by members of the MYC Leadership Group, the Working Together for Youth in Moreland Forum brought schools, education providers, community and government agencies together to optimise the way we collaborate across sectors and organisations for the benefit of young people. Read more
The overarching aim of the forum was to assist in building the capacity of community agencies in the City of Yarra to identify and support students at risk of disengagement in the primary to secondary school transition period (Grade 5 – Year 9). The aim was also to provide important opportunities for people to network, share learnings and build partnerships within and between the different sectors and regions. Read more

The Joining the Dots Forum was a capacity building initiative of the Yarra Primary Secondary School Transition Project, within the Yarra Youth Commitment Strategic Priorities Action Plan 2013. The Forum aimed to demonstrate the importance of and exemplify current practices around primary to secondary transition and engagement programs and strategies that support all young people to remain connected to learning and school through and beyond the critical middle years.
